Challenge By Choice

We are still on for this Saturday.  The weather looks like it will be clear in the morning.   The pool will be a toasty 85 degrees, but it might feel chilly when exiting the water.

Challenge by choice means that everyone can choose the challenge that is most appropriate for them.  For example, we have one participant who is a Level 1 swimmer but a Level 3 cyclist and runner, so those are the levels that he is choosing to participate in.  We want everyone to feel comfortable with their race level, so you pick the plan that fits your abilities best.  Feel free to mix and match for the different elements.  There's no need to ask race staff for permission, just choose the levels that are right for you!

We remind you that the only competition with this race is with yourself.  Our intention is to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy this sport that we love.  We are not officially timing this event, but you are welcome to keep track of your own time.  A clock will be started with the Level 3 swimmers that you can see as you cross the finish line for an approximation of your time.

1.  The Duathlon

We have added a duathlon for those who want to participate and be active but aren't quite ready for the whole triathlon.  The duathlon is the bike and run legs of the triathlon.  There are 3 levels for the duathlon that coincide with the levels of the triathlon, just without the swim leg.  Parents are welcome to register and participate in the duathlon with their kid(s)!  Cost is $25.  See below for specifics.

2.  Spaghetti Dinner

Carbo loading before the big race is included in this year's cost for triathlon and duathlon participants.  We hope to get everyone out for the pre-race meeting so you can familiarize yourself with the site and the course, so come pick up your packet and grab some grub!  If you can't make it to packet pick up, the pre-race meeting, or the dinner, you can still pick up your packet the morning of the race for the same great price!
